Why is an automotive icon so special? Is it because it’s aesthetically pleasing, and you can’t stop staring at it? Or is it because they define an era with their performance? Are you a fan of racing cars? The Alfa Romeo Group has cars from all three groups. Alfa Romeo’s best-known cars are those that changed history

Left hand drive alfa Romeo

In recent memory, the most successful models are the Italian Giulia, GTA, Brera, 156, 8C, 4C, and the recently resurrected Italian Giulia.

Iconic Italian brand names like Tubolare, Zagato, Alfetta, Stradale, 6C1750, Duetto, 8C2900, P3, and Disco Volante have been in the last few decades synonymous with sexy design and Italian style when it was at its best.  Alfa Romeo’s exclusivity goes beyond a small number of cars on the road.  There’s something special about Alfa Romeos.

Something about Alfas stands out in a world of conformity, whether it’s the grille, the logo, or the engine. There is a very unique design language to Alfa Romeos, and the vehicles prioritize things that can be hard to quantify. Technology is excellent, but the brand focuses on details like road feedback, comfort, passion, and emotion. It’s not just about crossing things off a list, and Alfas are about making your life fun!

Origin of Alfa Romeo

During the launch of Alfa (A.L.F.A meaning is Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) Romeo in 1910, draughtsman Romano Cattaneo created a logo. He based it on a crest in Milan above the Castello Sforzesco in central Milan while waiting for the number 14 tram. Several heraldic interpretations of the Biscione Visconteo adorned the Filarete Tower, the coat of arms of Milan, and the Visconti family that ruled it in medieval times.

This icon, Biscione, which means “grass snake,” may have been associated with Milan because of a bronzed serpent gift that Arnolf II of Arsago, Milan’s archbishop from 998 to 1018, brought from Constantinople. All nine Alfa logos have been defined by this image and a red cross against a white background, which is Milan’s official flag.
